Portrait of a Beauty
Yoon-jeong, who is seven years old and a talented painter, was born into a family of well-known court painters. Given that women aren't permitted to pursue careers as professional painters, the burden of continuing the cherished family legacy falls to her brother. Yoon-jeong assists her brother by covertly painting for him while he prepares to take his place in the court. When her brother commits suicide, the little girl's world is flipped upside down. She is compelled to adopt her brother's name and live as a man in order to protect the family's honor. Kim Hong-do, another legendary maestro of the era, is captivated by Yun-brilliance bok's and aptitude. The Royal Institute, meanwhile, has denounced her audacious representations of women as offensive. When Yun-bok meets Kang-mu, she develops a lasting love. She suddenly has a great urge to give up everything she has achieved in order to stand before the man she loves and just be a woman. Kang-moo also makes great sacrifices for his love.
