Betrayed
During World War II, German concentration camps are used to deport and murder millions of Jews from around Europe. When German forces invade Norway, the Jews of Norway feel secure and protected. However, anti-Semitism knows no borders, and when the war in Europe escalates, the situation alters dramatically. Suddenly, their radios are confiscated, their passports are marked with a large J, and all the men above the age of 15 are sent to prison camps. Many of the women left behind are too terrified to flee and are desperately awaiting the return of their husbands and sons. On November26,1942, the police round up hundreds of Jews in the middle of the night and transport them to the Oslo dock. Men, women, children, the sick, and the elderly are coerced into the awaiting German cargo ship "SS DONAU" There are 532 Norwegian Jews aboard the ship, including 302 men, 188 women, and 42 children.
