The Night Has Eyes

Two teachers, man-hungry Doris as well as limited Marian, see the Yorkshire moors a year after close friend Evelyn went away there. On a rainy evening, they take haven in the separated cottage of Stephen, single pianist shell-shocked in the Spanish Civil War. Doris gets away as soon as the flooding subsides; yet Marian's suspicions regarding Evelyn's fate, in conflict with her growing love for Stephen, prompt her to stay on amongst the hazy bogs.
